Getting to DC's Walk-Up Vaccination Sites

As of Saturday, May 1, Washington, DC has transitioned to the use of 11 high-capacity, walk-up, no appointment needed vaccination sites. Please be advised that designated walk-up sites are for first vaccination doses ONLY. After you receive your first dose, you still need to make an appointment to get your second dose. The walk-up sites are available in addition to pharmacies, clinics, and health care providers that are administering the vaccines throughout the District. These sites will operate their own scheduling systems.

      Getting to the Sites

To help you navigate to each of these walk-up vaccination sites, goDCgo has outlined ways to easily get there by bike, bus, Metro, or streetcar. In addition to the sustainable transportation options below, you can always travel by dockless bike or scooter, too, which are available and accessible across all eight wards. You can also plan your trip using goDCgo's interactive map.

From May 24 to July 4, Lyft is offering FREE or discounted rides to and from vaccination sites (up to $15 each way) directly through the Lyft app or website. Ride codes can be used for all of Lyft’s modes of transportation including rideshare, docked bikes, electric bikes, and scooters during standard pharmacy operating hours (6am to 8pm). Know Before You Go

Before heading out, check to see if there is a wait time at your walk-up site. Wait times are based on the estimated current number of people waiting in line and the number of vaccinators on site delivering vaccinations. goDCgo also encourages you to review the tips to commute with care so you can continue doing your part in helping the District reach pandemic recovery.

To schedule your second vaccination, find a location near you. Then call or visit the provider website to make an appointment.
