Navigating DC During Capital Pride

      Capital Pride is back in person this year! The Nation’s annual Capital Pride celebration recognizes its LGBTQ+ communities in an effort to unify, educate, and preserve the history and rights of citizens. From June 10 through June 12, there will be a variety of festivities such as the Pride Parade, block parties, and concerts. Whether you are going solo or traveling with a group, we encourage you to travel sustainably. Check out the transportation options below that will get you to Capital Pride events sustainably.

      Getting to Pride Parade, Block Party, and Street Fair

      The pride parade route spans from T St & 14th St NW to Rhode Island Ave NW and through Dupont Circle (view map). With the block party occurring halfway through the parade route on 17th St NW between P & R street.

      Metrorail: The closest stop to the start of the parade is U Street (Green & Yellow lines). Farragut North (red line) is the closest stop to the Rhode Island Ave stretch of the parade route and Dupont Circle (red line) will bring you to the last stretch of the parade route.

      Metrobus: Routes 52, 54, and 59 travel the 14th Street Corridor and will take you to the beginning of the parade route. If you prefer to meet somewhere in the middle, travel route G2, S2, or S9 to 16th St and P St NW. Walk westbound on P St NW to 17th St. Meeting friends at the end of the Pride Parade? Route 42, 43, D2, D6, L2, or N6 can take you to them and the festivities.

      Capital Bikeshare: The stations closest to the start of the parade are located at 14th St NW at R St and V St. Two additional stations are located on 17th St NW at K St to the center of the Pride Parade.

      DC Circulator: Take the Woodley Park-Adams Morgan-McPherson Square line to 14th St NW at Rhode Island Ave or U St to the beginning of the parade route. The Dupont Circle-Georgetown-Rosslyn line brings you closer to Dupont Circle – get off at 19th St NW & N St.

      Getting to Pride Festival
      The pride festival will be on America’s Mainstreet, historic Pennsylvania Avenue.

      Metrorail: Travel the Green or Yellow line to Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter. Exit the station on 7th St NW at Pennsylvania Ave.

      Metrobus: Routes 32, 36, 70, 74, 79, and P6 take you to Pennsylvania Ave NW between 3rd St and 7th St.

      Capital Bikeshare: There are several Capital Bikeshare stations to choose from to get you close to the Pride Festival. Make your selection below:

      • 4th St & Madison Dr. NW
      • Constitution Ave & 2nd St NW
      • 6th St & Indiana Ave NW
      • 8th St & D St NW
      • 10th St & Constitution Ave NW

      DC Circulator: Two DC Circulator routes (EM-LP and National Mall) will get you to the Pride Festival. Take the Eastern Market--L’Enfant Plaza route to 8th St & Pennsylvania Ave NW or the National Mall route to either Madison Dr & 4th St NW or Madison Dr & 7th St NW.
